Italy Announces Readiness to Participate in Ukraine Peacekeeping Mission

ROME: Italy has expressed its readiness to contribute to a potential international peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, signaling its willingness to engage in diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring stability in the region. Defense Minister Guido Crosetto conveyed this intention during a press briefing following the 5-5 defense ministers meeting held in Madrid.

According to Ansa News Agency, Crosetto emphasized Italy’s longstanding commitment to peacekeeping efforts globally, highlighting its desire to extend this role to Ukraine. Crosetto stated, “I hope to talk about peace, about peacekeeping, as soon as possible in Ukraine, but also in Gaza and Lebanon,” underscoring the broader context of Italy’s peacekeeping ambitions. The Defense Minister expressed Italy’s eagerness to contribute to peace efforts, reaffirming the nation’s historical involvement and distinction in such missions.
