Italy and Germany Urge EU to Rethink Green Deal Policies for Auto Industry

Brussels: Business and Made in Italy Minister Adolfo Urso announced that his ministry, in collaboration with the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Energy (BMWK), has signed a joint letter urging the European Union to reconsider its Green Deal policies affecting the automotive sector. “We are at a turning point: today a new phase opens for European industry,” stated Urso, emphasizing the need for a strategic shift.

According to Ansa News Agency, the joint letter from Italy and Germany highlights the necessity for the European Commission to adopt a new approach to the auto industry, prioritizing sustainability that is environmentally, socially, and economically viable. Urso emphasized the importance of transcending what he described as “ideological cages” inherent in the current Green Deal framework, advocating for a pragmatic and visionary path forward.
