Prevent Protests That Glorify Terrorism Says Israel Envoy

Rome: Italy must prevent protests that glorify terrorism, Israel Ambassador to Rome Jonathan Peled said Monday. “I find it outrageous that events are being held in Italy that glorify the October 7 massacre: rapes, mutilations, summary executions, people burned alive, and kidnappings of innocent civilians committed by Hamas,” he said on X.

According to Ansa News Agency, Peled emphasized that these actions are crimes against humanity that have no justification. He urged the Italian authorities to firmly oppose these initiatives, expressing trust that Italy will prevent demonstrations that glorify terrorism and betray the values of democratic civilization.

Recent mass protests in Italy against the Israeli war in Gaza have included some people hailing the Hamas attacks of two years ago, universally vilified as horrific, as justified acts of resistance.
