Italian Navy’s Alpino Warns Global Sumud Flotilla Near Gaza Coast
Rome: At approximately 4:30 PM in Italy, the Italian Navy’s Alpino ship, having “reached a distance of approximately 180 nautical miles from the coast of Gaza,” will issue an official warning to all vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla, the Defence General Staff announced Tuesday.
According to Ansa News Agency, it will be communicated that, in the absence of changes in course and speed, “at approximately 2:00 AM in Italy tomorrow, October 1st, the Flotilla will likely reach the limit of 150 nautical miles from the coast of Gaza.” The Alpino, as communicated several times in recent days, “will not exceed this limit,” so as not to jeopardize the safety of those on board.
