Italian Navy Frigate Alpino to Assist Global Sumud Flotilla Evacuees

Rome: The Italian Navy frigate Alpino has been designated to assist individuals choosing to leave the Global Sumud Flotilla. This initiative comes as a precautionary measure amidst the potential threat of a confrontation with Israel, as confirmed by the Italian Defence General Staff on Tuesday.

According to Ansa News Agency, the final opportunity for individuals to board the Alpino will occur tomorrow, October 1st. The frigate is expected to reach a position 150 nautical miles from the coast of Gaza by 2:00 a.m. At this juncture, it will halt and remain on standby to provide necessary assistance and conduct rescue operations if required. The initiative aims to ensure the safety of those involved, adhering strictly to international safety procedures and regulations.
