Italian Consumer and Business Confidence Up: Istat

Rome: Italian consumer and business confidence have increased this month, Istat said on Tuesday. The national statistics agency reported a rise in its consumer-confidence index from 96.8 in September to 97.6 in October, marking a second consecutive increase.

According to Ansa News Agency, Istat also noted an improvement in its IESI (Istat Economic Sentiment Indicator) business-confidence index, which increased from 93.7 to 94.3. Furthermore, the agency highlighted a particularly significant rise in its retail-trade confidence index, which went up from 101.8 to 105.0.
