Italian Business and Consumer Confidence Decline Further, Reports Istat

Rome: Italian business and consumer confidence have dropped further this month, Istat said on Tuesday. The national statistics agency highlighted a notable decrease in both sectors, signaling ongoing economic challenges.

According to Ansa News Agency, Istat reported that its consumer confidence index fell from 95.0 to 92.7 in April. This decline reflects growing concerns among consumers about the current economic climate and future prospects.

Furthermore, Istat’s IESI (Istat Economic Sentiment Indicator) business-confidence index decreased for the third consecutive month, dropping from 93.2 to 91.5. This marks the lowest level since March 2021, indicating persistent uncertainty and hesitation among businesses across Italy.
