Industrial Production Rises After Over Two Years of Decline

Rome: Istat said Tuesday that its calendar adjusted industrial production index increased by 0.3% in April compared to the same month in 2024 for the first year-on-year rise after 26 consecutive months of decline. The national statistics agency highlighted this as a significant change in the industrial sector’s trend.

According to Ansa News Agency, industrial production was up by 1% compared to March 2025, based on seasonally adjusted data. This marks a notable improvement in the industrial output, indicating a potential recovery after a prolonged period of downturn in the sector.
