Italy Ready to Deploy Troops in Gaza Says Tajani
Rome: Italy is poised to send military forces to Gaza as part of an international stabilization effort, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced during a government reconstruction summit at Palazzo Chigi. Tajani, who also serves as deputy premier, emphasized the importance of a unified approach among political factions in the matter.
According to Ansa News Agency, Tajani stated that Italy’s military involvement would be in line with the International Stabilization Force as outlined in the Trump plan. The center-left Democratic Party (PD) expressed willingness to engage in discussions contingent on a United Nations mandate, while the leader of the left-wing 5-Star Movement (M5S), Giuseppe Conte, highlighted Italy’s potential role in peacekeeping efforts through its military.
