High Risk of Incidents Between Global Sumud Flotilla and IDF Due to Large Number of Ships

Rome: There is a high risk of incidents between the Global Sumud Flotilla and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) due to the high number of boats heading to bring aid to Gaza, Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said Monday.

According to Ansa News Agency, Crosetto expressed concerns during an appearance on Rai TV, recalling a past incident in the area where ten Turks died. He emphasized that the situation is not about willpower or emotions but about the potential risks faced by those on board the boats.

Crosetto stated, “I have always hoped there would be no lethal consequences.” The presence of over 50 boats in the Flotilla increases the likelihood of interception by the IDF, heightening the risk of accidents. He shared these remarks on the program Cinque Minuti with veteran journalist Bruno Vespa.
