Hezbollah Conducts Record 48 Attacks Against Israeli Army in Single Day

BEIRUT: Hezbollah announced that its fighters executed 48 attacks against the Israeli army on Friday, the highest daily count since October 8. The Lebanese group targeted Israeli soldiers and military positions in northern Israel and southern Lebanon with rockets and artillery, also forcing an Israeli drone to retreat from Lebanese airspace.

According to Anadolu Agency, Hezbollah’s operations included targeting 31 groups of Israeli soldiers and attacking seven Israeli Merkava tanks, resulting in fatalities. Additionally, the group launched attacks on three settlements in Safed city, five military sites, and an artillery bunker in northern Israel using rocket barrages.

The Israel Hayom newspaper described the series of attacks as a “record breaking” number for a single day since October 8, 2023. These developments occur amid an ongoing escalation between Israel and Hezbollah, which has seen Israel carry out an extensive air campaign in Lebanon against what it identifies as Hezbollah targets. This follows a
year of cross-border hostilities between the two sides, exacerbated by Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip.

Lebanese health authorities report that Israeli attacks have resulted in over 2,600 fatalities and more than 12,200 injuries. The conflict intensified on October 1 with Israel’s ground assault into southern Lebanon, further escalating tensions in the region.
