Lebanon Condemns Terror Attack on Turkish Defense Facility, Expresses Solidarity with Ankara

BEIRUT: Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry has condemned a terror attack that targeted a defense industry facility in Ankara earlier this week, emphasizing its solidarity with Turkey amid ongoing regional tensions. The attack resulted in multiple casualties, further highlighting security challenges in the region.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry issued a statement denouncing “all forms of violence and terrorism” while expressing condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured. The ministry’s statement also highlighted Lebanon’s ongoing struggle with incursions and daily attacks by Israel, underscoring the nation’s empathy with Turkey’s plight.

The attack on Wednesday resulted in the deaths of at least five individuals and left 22 others injured. The incident occurred at the headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) and was attributed to the PKK terror group. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed that the terrorists responsible f
or the attack had been neutralized and identified as members of the PKK.

The PKK has been engaged in a more than 40-year-long campaign against Turkey, resulting in the deaths of approximately 40,000 people. The group is recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States, and the European Union.
