Flotilla Faces Israeli Ships But Continues Journey
Gaza: The Global Sumud Flotilla announced on Wednesday that it had encountered Israeli ships, which had begun to board its lead vessels. Despite this development, the Flotilla remains committed to advancing its mission.
According to Ansa News Agency, the Flotilla reported that around twenty vessels were approaching, with some already within its formation. The intentions of these approaching vessels remain unclear. The activists on board emphasized their determination to reach Gaza, aiming to break the naval blockade, establish a lasting humanitarian corridor, and challenge the current situation.
Concerns about communication were also expressed, with activists warning that they might lose connection soon. They urged global support for the Global Sumud Flotilla and reiterated the importance of acknowledging the right of the Palestinian people to exist.
The Flotilla describes itself as a self-organized and peaceful initiative. It confirmed that the boarding of its vessels by Israeli ships had commenced.
