Israel Boarding of Gaza Aid Flotilla Begins

Gaza: The Global Sumud Flotilla for aid to Gaza announced on Wednesday that Israel had commenced boarding its lead vessels. “The boarding has started,” reported the activists, indicating that the interception began with the boat Alma, which currently stands isolated.

According to Ansa News Agency, Israel issued a stop order as part of its naval blockade of the Strip. At 8:25 PM (7:25 PM Italian time), activists from the Italian delegation reported that Israel had instructed the Flotilla’s boats to halt. The activists highlighted that the attempt to breach the blockade was communicated as a violation of international law, warning that continuation would lead to the vessels being stopped and confiscated. Additionally, the activists noted that Israeli forces were disseminating propaganda messages during the operation.

The Flotilla stated that Israeli boats and dinghies were nearing its lead vessels as they aimed to deliver aid to Gaza. “Twenty boats are approaching the boats, while five dinghies are ahead of the Sirius,” the Flotilla revealed. The Sirius is identified as one of the key vessels spearheading the humanitarian mission.
