FI Aide Office Sealed in EP Huawei Graft Probe

Brussels: The office of an aide to Italy’s centre-right Forza Italia (FI) was sealed Thursday in a probe into suspected corruption by Chinese telecoms giant Huawei at the European Parliament. The office of a parliamentary assistant to Democratic Bulgaria was also sealed.

According to Ansa News Agency, FI is a member of the European People’s Party (EPP) while Democratic Bulgaria is part of the liberal Renew caucus. Lobbyists linked to Huawei were arrested in the probe.
