F1: Hamilton Wins Sprint Race of Shanghai GP with Ferrari


Shanghai: Formula One great Lewis Hamilton on Saturday won the sprint race of the Chinese Grand Prix on the Shanghai circuit, marking his first victory with Ferrari. Second place went to Mclaren’s Oscar Piastri, with four-time and reigning Red Bull champion Max Verstappen taking third. Charles Leclerc, in the other Ferrari, finished fifth.

According to Ansa News Agency, Hamilton later secured fifth place in the qualifying for Sunday’s Grand Prix. Oscar Piastri claimed pole position, followed by George Russell in a Mercedes in second place, Mclaren’s Lando Norris in third, and Verstappen in fourth. Leclerc took sixth position in the qualifying.

Hamilton shared his thoughts with Sky about his qualifying performance after his sprint race victory. “I could have been a couple of tenths higher, but I struggled a lot to find the balance of the car this afternoon,” said the seven-time champion, reflecting on his fifth-place qualifying result. He commented on the changes from the previous day, noting that other comp
etitors had improved. “We made a couple of changes, some small adjustments to the car, but in the end we had a lot more oversteer,” he added.
