European Army Not on the Agenda Says Meloni

Rome: Premier Giorgia Meloni told the Senate on Tuesday that a European army was not on the agenda. “Defence systems are based on national armies that are coordinated, if necessary,” stated the premier.

According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni was addressing the Senate following a briefing ahead of this week’s European Council. Her comments were made in response to League Senator Claudio Borghi, who had criticized the EU’s 800 billion euro ReArm Europe plan.
