Contact with Faito Cableway Cabin Lost

Naples: Contact has been lost with the cabin of the Monte Faito cableway near Naples that remained blocked upstream of the system following the breakdown due to bad weather this afternoon, local sources said Thursday. There are reportedly 3 or 4 passengers on board along with an operator.

According to Ansa News Agency, the severe weather conditions on the summit of Faito are hindering rescue efforts that have been underway since the afternoon. The rescuers are experiencing significant challenges in reaching the site.

The cabin is currently not visible, possibly due to heavy fog, and cannot be reached by radio.
