Confident About Italy’s Role After Elkann Talks Says Urso.

Rome: Business and Made in Italy Minister Adolfo Urso expressed confidence in Italy’s position within Stellantis’s future plans following discussions with President John Elkann in India on Monday. These talks came after the resignation of CEO Carlos Tavares.

According to Ansa News Agency, Urso stated that the discussion with Elkann revealed conditions favorable for developing an Italian plan that would place Italy at the center of the European automotive industry’s growth. Urso also mentioned that Stellantis now acknowledges the necessity to reassess its decarbonization strategy.

Tavares resigned after a disagreement with the board, a situation compounded by declining sales and uncertainty surrounding the future strategies of the Italo-Franco-US carmaker.
