Baby Found Dead in Rome Park May Have Been Strangled

Rome: A baby girl, approximately six months old, was discovered dead in Rome’s Villa Pamphili park on Saturday. She was found about 200 meters away from the body of a woman, raising suspicions that the infant may have been strangled. This conclusion comes from the results of an autopsy conducted on the baby, as sources revealed on Monday.

According to Ansa News Agency, investigators believe that the woman, who was discovered nearby, could be the child’s mother. Both were thought to be living rough in the park. The woman, estimated to be around 40 years old, showed no signs of injuries upon a Sunday autopsy.

Authorities are conducting additional tests to ascertain whether the woman, potentially hailing from Northern or Eastern Europe, might have succumbed to a drug overdose.
