Antonio Capuano and Marcia Gay Harden to Receive Career Awards at Ischia Film Festival
Ischia: 80-year-old Italian director Antonio Capuano and 65-year-old American actress Marcia Gay Harden are set to be honored with career achievement awards at the Ischia Film Festival, which runs from June 28 to July 5. This year’s festival will be hosted at the Castello Aragonese on the island’s iconic Bay of Naples.
According to Ansa News Agency, the festival will feature a star-studded lineup, including Rashid Masharawi, Luca Zingaretti, Anna Ammirati, Francesca Comencini, Luca Bigazzi, Toni Servillo, Roberto And², Marco Giallini, and Celeste Dalla Porta. The event is directed by Michelangelo Messina and marks the 23rd edition of the festival.
The festival will commence on June 28 with a tribute to Capuano, who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. His acclaimed film, Dark Love, will be screened during the event. The following day, Marcia Gay Harden will be celebrated with the screening of Miller’s Crossing by the Coen brothers. Harden, an Oscar-winning actress known for her roles in Pollock and Mystic River, will also receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Palestinian director Rashid Masharawi will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award on the same day. On June 30, Luca Zingaretti will present his directorial debut, La casa degli sguardi, and receive the Ischia Film Award for his contribution to the Italian artistic scene.
The festival will continue with various screenings: on July 1, Anna Ammirati will feature in Napoli – New York by Gabriele Salvatores; on July 2, Francesca Comencini and Luca Bigazzi will present Il tempo che ci vuole; and on July 3, Toni Servillo and Roberto And² will screen L’abbaglio.
The event will close on July 4 with Marco Giallini accompanying the film La citt proibita by Gabriele Mainetti. The closing ceremony on July 5 will announce the winners and award prizes for the works in competition, featuring the screening of Paolo Sorrentino’s Parthenope, with Celeste Dalla Porta in attendance.
