Italy’s Intelligence Services Address Potential Threats from Iran, Says Foreign Minister Tajani

Rome: Italian intelligence services are “at work” on possible threats from Iran to Italy, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said Wednesday. Tajani emphasized the ongoing efforts of Italy’s intelligence and police forces to ensure the safety of the nation’s citizens, highlighting the significance of these measures in the current global climate.

According to Ansa News Agency, Tajani, who also serves as deputy premier and leader of the centre-right post-Berlusconi Forza Italia party, stressed the importance of protection measures, particularly in sensitive areas. He stated that police forces are actively safeguarding all Israeli diplomatic offices in Rome and Jewish places of worship throughout Italy.

In his remarks, Tajani detailed the multifaceted approach being undertaken by various law enforcement agencies. He mentioned that penitentiary police are vigilant in prisons, financial police are monitoring financial flows, and intelligence services are focused on preventing any potential negative actions. Tajani expressed his confidence in the capabilities of Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi, praising his effective management and understanding of the security apparatus.
