Ambassador Mazzanti Celebrates Da Prato’s Achievements at World Para Swimming
Lima: Italy’s Ambassador to Peru, Massimiliano Mazzanti, celebrated in Lima the extraordinary results achieved by Italian swimmer Luca da Prato at the latest event at the World Para Swimming World Series. Against the backdrop of the Peruvian capital’s Videna Aquatic Center, Da Prato, torchbearer for Milan-Cortina 2026, achieved a gold in the 100 backstroke and three silvers – in the 50 butterfly, and 50 and 100 freestyle, respectively – while also setting two new Italian records.
According to Ansa News Agency, Mazzanti commented on the inspiring nature of Da Prato’s achievements and noted that during his stay in Peru, Da Prato will also give a lecture to high school students at the Antonio Raimondi Italian School. The lecture will focus on Da Prato’s personal story, the Paralympic world, and the importance of sport, emphasizing the future with young people at the center.
