Ambassador Formosa Engages in Peace Talks with Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister
Kyiv: The Italian ambassador to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa, met with the First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sergiy Kyslytsya, to discuss prospects for developing a just and lasting peace in the region. The discussion gains significance in light of the recent direct contacts between Ukraine and Russia.
According to Ansa News Agency, Ambassador Formosa emphasized Italy’s ongoing commitment to enhancing European security and strengthening the transatlantic link. During the meeting, Deputy Minister Kyslytsya expressed his gratitude for Italy’s attention to the Ukrainian pavilion at the Venice Biennale, highlighting the cultural ties between the two countries.
The meeting also underscored the importance of the upcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference, scheduled to take place in Rome on 10 and 11 July. This event is seen as a crucial opportunity to raise international awareness about the situation in Ukraine and to discuss strategies for the nation’s recovery and future development.
