Alto Adige Church Involved in 67 Sex-Abuse Cases Says Report
Vatican City: There were 67 confirmed cases of sexual abuse involving the Catholic church in Alto Adige between 1963 and 2023, according to a report by Munich law firm Westpfahl-Spilker-Wastl for the Diocese of Bozen and Bressanone that was presented on Monday.
According to Ansa News Agency, the report identified 24 priests and 59 victims involved in these cases. The average age of the priests at the time of the abuses was between 28 and 35 years, while the victims were between 8 and 14 years old.
The report further detailed that just over 50% of the victims were girls, highlighting the significant impact on young members of the community.
