Military in Ukraine to Understand Conflict Useful-Crosetto

Rome: It would be useful to send Italian military staff and experts to Ukraine to understand the conflict with Russia and glean what lessons it may have for Italy’s defence, Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said Monday. “It would be useful to send officers and people to understand what happened, how they fought, what lessons our armed forces can learn from what happened there and to prevent, because the task of defense is to defend,” he said on the sidelines of the ceremony to take office of the new commander of the COVI joint operations command, General Giovanni Maria Iannucci.

According to Ansa News Agency, Crosetto emphasized the necessity of parliamentary authorization and ensuring the safety of any personnel involved in such a mission. He suggested that understanding the dynamics of the conflict in Ukraine could provide valuable insights for Italy’s defense strategies. Crosetto’s comments came during a significant military event, highlighting the importance of adapting military strategies based on current global conflicts.
