Woman Stabbed by Husband in Supermarket Parking Lot

Seriate: A 39-year-old woman is in serious condition in hospital after being stabbed by her 48-year-old husband in a supermarket parking lot at Seriate near Bergamo north of Milan at around 9 am Monday.

According to Ansa News Agency, the woman had previously reported her husband for domestic violence, and the term of a restraining order against him had recently expired. The attack highlights ongoing concerns about gender violence in Italy.

A man who came to the woman’s aid during the attack was slightly injured. This incident is part of a troubling pattern, as Italy is currently experiencing a wave of gender violence.
