Woman Found Dead in Udine Home; Ex-Husband Dies in Apparent Suicide Crash

Udine: A 46-year-old woman was found murdered in her flat in Udine on Thursday, and police have expressed suspicions regarding her ex-husband, who was killed shortly thereafter in a collision with a truck. The crash, which occurred near the northeastern Italian city, is being investigated as a possible suicide, judicial sources reported.

According to Ansa News Agency, the deceased man had been under house arrest and was subject to a restraining order due to previous incidents of violence against his ex-wife. He died in the crash at Basiliano in Udine province after his car collided with a heavy goods lorry.

Authorities are investigating whether the man was attempting to flee or if he deliberately crashed into the truck to take his own life. This incident adds to a concerning trend of femicides occurring across Italy.
