Witkoff Engages in Ceasefire Talks with Israeli and Qatari Officials in Sardinia

Sardinia: US President Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff is reportedly meeting Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Sardinia on Thursday for talks on a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages by Hamas. The encounter may take place in a yacht moored off Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda, sources said.

According to Ansa News Agency, Witkoff was reportedly flying to Sardinia and was set to land at Olbia airport. The meeting is set to take place as Israeli and Hamas officials hold indirect negotiations in Doha. If progress is made, Witkoff will fly to Doha at the weekend, Axios reported on Wednesday.
