Wimbledon: Sinner to Face Djokovic in Semi-Finals

London: Italy’s world number one Jannik Sinner will face Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of the Wimbledon men’s singles after easing past number 10 seed Ben Shelton of USA in three sets, 7-6 6-4 6-4, on Wednesday. Serb great Novak Djokovic, the record 24-slam winner and seven-time Wimbledon champ, came from a set down to beat another Italian, Flavio Cobolli, 6-7 6-2 7-5 6-4.

According to Ansa News Agency, Sinner, who was playing with a compress sleeve on his right arm after an injury against Gregor Dimitrov in the last 16, where the Bulgarian retired hurt, is aiming for his first title in South West London. The 23-year-old has won two Australian Opens and a US Open but recently lost the French Open to world number two and five-time slam winner Carlos Alcaraz of Spain in the longest final at Roland-Garros ever after failing to convert three match points in the fourth set.
