Wimbledon: Sinner Advances to Semi-Final After Defeating Shelton

Wimbledon: Jannik Sinner expressed his satisfaction and relief after overcoming Ben Shelton in straight sets to advance to the Wimbledon semi-final. He will next face either Novak Djokovic or his fellow Italian, Flavio Cobolli.

According to Ansa News Agency, Sinner mentioned that his elbow, which had been troubling him, felt significantly better during the match. The victory was marked by a 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over American Ben Shelton, who was the number 10 seed. This marked Sinner’s sixth win in seven encounters against Shelton. Sinner noted the familiarity between the players, acknowledging Shelton’s strong serving ability.

Sinner, who is currently the world number one and a three-time Grand Slam winner, had previously sustained an injury against Grigor Dimitrov, leading to Dimitrov’s retirement while two sets up. Sinner expressed optimism about his upcoming match, hoping for a strong performance regardless of whether he faces Djokovic or Cobolli.
