Wimbledon: Cobolli to Face Djokovic
London: Italy’s Flavio Cobolli will face Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon quarter-finals Wednesday after the Serb great beat Australia’s Alex de Minut in four sets Monday. Record 24-time slam winner, seven-time Wimbledon champ and number six Djokovic, 38, was broken three times by the speedy and wristy Australian no 11 seed in losing the first set 6-1. He was a point away from going 4-1 down in the fourth before running out a 1-6 6-4 6-4 6-4 winner. It is Djoko’s 16th quarter-final in South West London.
According to Ansa News Agency, Cobolli, 23, the 22nd seed, beat unseeded 2014 US Open winner and Croat great Marin Cilic, 36, in four sets earlier in the day. It is the 23-year-old Florentine born Roman player’s first slam quarter-final.
