Weather Front from Russia to Cause Temperature Drop in Italy

Rome: Temperatures are set to plummet in Italy as a weather front arrives from Russia, ending an unusually warm and balmy spell, a top forecaster said Wednesday. A wave of bad weather is approaching the country, particularly affecting the Adriatic coast, with temperatures expected to drop significantly below the seasonal average.

According to Ansa News Agency, Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist and media manager for iLMeteo.it, stated that the weather system will bring “almost winter-like conditions” with temperatures dropping to 10-12°C below the seasonal average. Tedici explained that while the system will have a wintry feel, its arrival in October means it won’t bring low-altitude snowfall or other phenomena typical of December, but rather weather akin to mid-November.

The cold front is anticipated to cause severe thunderstorms in the Northeast and possibly extend as far south as Lombardy, with hailstorms being a potential occurrence. In the coldest areas, lows are expected to hover around 4°C, while highs may only reach 13-14°C, marking a significant departure from the recent warm spell.
