Berlin: UniCredit’s decision to increase its stake in Commerzbank to 26% has been labeled as a hostile and uncoordinated move by the German government, as stated on Monday.
According to Ansa News Agency, the German government acknowledged UniCredit’s latest actions regarding Commerzbank. A spokesperson for the German Finance Ministry emphasized at a press conference in Berlin that the government’s stance remains unchanged. The spokesperson stated, “We reject uncoordinated and hostile actions and we recognize Commerzbank’s strategy of independence.”
