Tuttofood Fair Showcases Italy’s Role in Global Food Policies
Milan: The CEO of Fiere di Parma, Antonio Cellie, emphasized the resilience of Italy’s food and drink sector at the inauguration of Tuttofood. Cellie remarked on the sector’s ability to navigate challenges like the energy crisis and the Covid pandemic, expressing confidence that even the American administration will recognize the unsustainable nature of imposing trade duties that hinder food sharing.
According to Ansa News Agency, the event marks Italy’s return to the forefront of global food policies, a decade after Expo 2015 which focused on ‘Feeding the planet.’ Organized by Fiere di Parma, Tuttofood is hosted at the Fiera Milano Rho and runs until May 8. It features participation from 4,700 companies across 150,000 square meters, spread over 10 pavilions-three more than the 2023 edition. More than 25% of the participants are international, hailing from regions including North America, the Philippines, Spain, and Egypt. The event expects to attract over 3,000 top international buyers, 90,000 visitors, and numerous journalists from across Italy.
The opening day featured notable attendees such as the Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida, and the President of ICE, Matteo Zoppas. The event commenced with a conference on ‘The role of AI in key sectors of agri-food,’ curated by Valeria Sandei, CEO of Almawave.
