Tudor Praises Juventus’ Resilience After Dramatic Draw Against Dortmund

Turin: Juventus coach Igor Tudor praised his team’s resilience after they staged a remarkable comeback to draw 4-4 against Borussia Dortmund in their opening Champions League match on Tuesday. Juventus managed to secure the draw with two late goals in stoppage time, erasing a 4-2 deficit at home.

According to Ansa News Agency, Juventus displayed a fighting spirit throughout the match. Kenan Yildiz equalized after Karim Adeyemi’s early goal for Dortmund. Substitute Dusan Vlahovic then leveled the score again after Felix Nmecha put the German side ahead 2-1. Dortmund seemed set for victory with Yan Couto’s goal and a penalty conversion by Ramy Bensebaini, giving them a two-goal advantage late in the game.

However, Juventus was not done. Vlahovic scored again, providing a glimmer of hope for the home side. Lloyd Kelly then completed the comeback with a header, ensuring Juventus left the pitch with a point. This thrilling match came on the heels of another last-minute victory against Inter, where Juventus won 4
-3 with a decisive goal in the dying moments.

Tudor acknowledged the significance of the last two matches against formidable opponents, emphasizing the contribution of players who enter the game as substitutes. “Everyone who comes on does so with great spirit, which means a lot to a manager,” Tudor remarked. “The result is decided at the end, so the players who finish the game are very important. We’re working on the team’s mentality every day in training. It’s a great feeling to see that we never give up.”

As Juventus celebrates their successful comeback, other teams like Inter and Atalanta prepare for their Champions League openers against Ajax and PSG, respectively, on Wednesday.
