Trump’s Tariff Strategy: A Calculated Move for Political Sovereignty

Pisa: United States President Donald Trump is not crazy and he has his own political strategy based on tariffs to deconstruct globalisation as it has thus far been known, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti told the Italian industrial employers federation Confindustria Tuesday. “The tariffs? We need to carefully read the US decisions. I don’t think Trump is crazy, but that he has a precise strategy of commercial and political sovereignty,” said Giorgetti, speaking at the Confindustria assembly in Pisa.

According to Ansa News Agency, Giorgetti elaborated on the tariffs, explaining that they are a response to the United States’ need to be self-sufficient in production that is crucial to the country’s strategic autonomy. He stated, “In any case, these decisions have completely revolutionized and deconstructed globalization, which we will never know again as we knew it.”
