Trump to Review Tariffs by April 1, Announces Tajani
Rome: US President Donald Trump will conduct a review of tariffs by April 1, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced Tuesday. The announcement was made following a meeting between Tajani and representatives of the Italian productive sector to assess the current state of foreign trade and the future of exports under the new US administration.
According to Ansa News Agency, Tajani clarified that President Trump’s initial decisions do not involve the introduction of new tariffs. Instead, they focus on a comprehensive review of various aspects of American trade policy. This review process aims to evaluate and potentially adjust the existing tariffs by the target date.
Tajani, who also serves as deputy premier, emphasized the importance of adopting a pragmatic approach. He highlighted the need to prepare actions and responses to any potential shifts in the international trade landscape. The foreign ministry stated that Tajani’s strategy involves closely monitoring developments and being ready to adapt to changes in trade relations.
