Teen Detained for Killing Three in Monreale Shooting
Monreale: A 19-year-old man, Salvatore Calvaruso, has been arrested for allegedly killing three young men and wounding two other people in a shooting in the town of Monreale, near Palermo, on the night between Saturday and Sunday, sources said on Monday.
According to Ansa News Agency, Calvaruso initially admitted being the killer in a “spontaneous declaration” but then used the right to remain silent in the presence of a prosecutor. As a result, the confession is not valid to be used in court as things stand.
The shooting took place after a fight thought to have been caused by “futile motives”.
