Tajani Urges Israel to Safeguard Global Flotilla

New york: Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, currently attending the UN General Assembly, has urged Israel to refrain from actions that could endanger those aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla. This includes some Italian MPs and MEPs, following reports of attacks on the flotilla’s boats overnight, as reported by the Italian foreign ministry on Wednesday.

According to Ansa News Agency, the Italian foreign ministry had previously informed Israeli authorities that any actions undertaken by Israeli forces in Jerusalem must adhere to international law and prioritize the safety of those involved. The statement emphasized the importance of absolute caution in these operations.

Minister Tajani has instructed the Italian Embassy in Tel Aviv to obtain further information and to reinforce their earlier request to the Israeli government. The request seeks to ensure the complete safety of all personnel on board the flotilla.
