Tajani to Speak to Rubio About Italians in US Illegally

Rome: Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced plans to discuss the situation of Italian nationals in the United States with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. This conversation follows reports that some Italian citizens are among the thousands of illegal migrants that the US plans to relocate to Guantanamo.

According to Ansa News Agency, Tajani confirmed on RTL 102.5 radio that a phone call with Rubio is scheduled for Thursday afternoon. The purpose of the call is to seek further clarification on the matter.

Tajani also mentioned that the Italian government currently lacks precise information on the number of Italians residing illegally in the United States. The issue has gained attention amid broader discussions on immigration and deportation policies.
