Tajani Pessimistic About Ukraine Solution by End of Year

Barcelona: Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated on Friday that he was not hopeful of a solution to the war in Ukraine being found this year. Tajani expressed his concerns during his address at the ‘Europe Forum’ in Barcelona, where he was joined by EPP Secretary-General and European Parliament member Dolors Montserrat.

According to Ansa News Agency, Tajani highlighted the ongoing communication between Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump, noting that despite their frequent meetings, reaching a peaceful resolution has become increasingly difficult. Tajani admitted, “I’m normally optimistic, but I’m pessimistic in this situation,” emphasizing the complex nature of the conflict and his belief that significant progress is unlikely to occur before the year’s end.
