Swimming Worlds: Ceccon Wins Silver in 100m Backstroke
Rome: Italy’s Thomas Ceccon won the silver medal in the 100m backstroke at the World Swimming Championships in Singapore on Tuesday. Ceccon, who previously clinched gold in the event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, was narrowly beaten by South Africa’s Pieter Coetze. France’s Yohann Ndoye-Brouard secured the bronze.
According to Ansa News Agency, Ceccon’s performance in Singapore adds to his achievements at the World Championships, where he also earned a bronze medal in the 50 meter butterfly on Monday. Additionally, Ceccon played a crucial role in Italy’s success in the men’s 4×100 freestyle relay, contributing to the team’s silver medal performance on Sunday.
