Suspected Fake Salvador Dal Artworks Seized from Exhibition in Parma
Parma: Carabinieri art police on Wednesday seized 21 works suspected to be falsely attributed to Salvador Dal from an exhibition in Parma. The exhibition, titled “Dal: Between Art and Myth,” had opened on Saturday, showcasing a collection of tapestries, drawings, and engravings.
According to Ansa News Agency, the operation was prompted by a report from the ‘Fundaci²n Gala – Salvador Dal’, the organization responsible for managing and defending the Spanish artist’s intellectual property. The foundation raised concerns after the works were previously displayed at a show in Rome, leading to the investigation and subsequent seizure of the allegedly fake pieces in Parma.
