Stellantis Sees Significant Drop in Car Production by a Third in Six Months

Rome: A Stellantis trade union has reported that the automotive giant experienced a substantial decline in its car production, losing a third of its output in the first half of the year. This comes after a challenging 2024 for the company.

According to Ansa News Agency, data from the first six months of 2025 highlights a worsening situation compared to an already difficult 2024, as stated by Fim Cisl. The union forecasts a year-end closure with around 440,000 units produced, with approximately 250,000 cars manufactured.

Ferdinando Uliano, the general secretary, explained that 221,885 units of cars and commercial vehicles were produced in the first half of 2025, marking a 26.9% decrease compared to the same period in 2024. Specifically, car production saw a decline of 33.6%, totaling 123,905 units, while the production of commercial vehicles decreased by 16.3%, with 97,980 units produced.

All of Stellantis’ car plants have experienced significant deterioration in production, indicating ongoing challenges for the company moving forward.
