Stellantis Production Hits Record Low Since 1956, Trade Union Reports

Turin: Stellantis production has worsened and is now at its lowest level since 1956, trade union FIM CISL said Tuesday.

According to Ansa News Agency, in the first three months of 2025, Stellantis production worsened significantly compared to the same period in 2024, which had already been described as “a black year.” A total of 109,900 units of cars and commercial vans were produced, marking a drop of 35.5%, the lowest figure recorded since 1956.

Ferdinando Uliano, general secretary of FIM CISL, stated at a meeting in Turin that all car and commercial vehicle plants are facing challenges, and the tariffs imposed during the Trump administration are expected to further exacerbate the situation. The number of cars produced in the quarter stood at 60,533, reflecting a decrease of 42.5%, while commercial vehicles totaled 49,367, a reduction of 24.2%.
