State Funeral and National Mourning Declared for Fallen Carabinieri
Rome: The three Carabinieri who tragically lost their lives in a gas-canister explosion during an eviction near Verona will be honored with a state funeral and a period of national mourning. This decision was made by the cabinet on Tuesday.
According to Ansa News Agency, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni requested the cabinet to observe a minute of silence to pay tribute to the officers – Marco Piffari, Davide Bernardello, and Valerio Dapr . The explosion occurred in a farmhouse at Castel D’Azzano, resulting in the immediate deaths of the three officers.
A state funeral has been declared to honor the victims, and national mourning will be observed both today and on the day of the funeral. The government aims to recognize the bravery and sacrifice of the fallen Carabinieri through these measures.
