Speed Camera Tests to Be Completed Within Two Months
Rome: Tests on Italy’s speed cameras to ensure their proper functioning and prevent misuse for generating extra council profits will be finalized within two months, the transport ministry announced Thursday. Local authorities have been given a deadline until the end of September to submit data on all their cameras using a new ministry app.
According to Ansa News Agency, Italian motoring groups have expressed concerns for a long time about speed cameras being manipulated to penalize motorists unfairly and bolster council budgets.
