Southern Italy Tops Climate Livability Rankings for 2024
Cagliari: Southern Italy has emerged as the leader in climate livability, as revealed by the latest climate ranking of Italian cities conducted by Corriere della Sera and iLMeteo.it.
According to Ansa News Agency, the fourth edition of this climate index placed Cagliari in Sardinia at the top for 2024. Following Cagliari in the rankings were Naples, Salerno, Brindisi, and Agrigento. The analysis was a collaborative effort between the daily newspaper Corriere della Sera and the weather site iLMeteo.it, focusing on the livability of weather across Italy’s main cities.
The poll highlighted a noticeable underperformance by Northern Italy, attributed to “extreme events and heavy rain” experienced over the past year. This information was provided by iLMeteo.it meteorologist Lorenzo Tedici to Corriere. Specifically, Milan was noted for having recorded 111 days of rain, an increase of 58% compared to the previous year.
