Soccer: Lautaro Fined 5,000 Euros for Blasphemy
Milan: Inter skipper Lautaro Martinez was fined 5,000 euros for using blasphemous language after a match against Juventus on February 16, the Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC) said Monday.
According to Ansa News Agency, the Argentina striker, 27, avoided a suspension by a plea bargain in which he pleaded guilty to taking the Lord’s name in vain after the loss to the Serie A leaders’ arch-rivals.
In the past, Juve and Italy goalkeeping great Gianluigi Buffon has been among others who have fallen foul of the blasphemy norms.
